SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Three Cheers for April Showers!!

Happy May Day!
PS 163's new club assignments have been very busy...in fact too busy to blog.  Now we're getting back on the horse.

This semester's club consists of some new and sneaky gardening gurus...All students are supposed to experience two clubs a year, but some couldn't get enough of the garden and made their way in.  I can't blame them!!

What have we been doing until now? JUICING!!  It was still too cold to head to the garden in February-so we were busy researching the nutritional and medicinal benefits of a variety of fruits.  Each session we researched and juiced...and couldn't forget the mystery green!  Talk about teamwork-every club member has brought in the fruit of their choice...no matter what it is, it goes into the blender! pits and all!  During the last two weeks, we returned to the garden for post winter cleaning.  It's a beautiful oasis-go check it out!

Here are some recipes to get your juicing started! (note: one of each unless noted differently)

Grade 4:
Juice 1: orange, mango (REMOVE PIT), clementine, strawberry, banana, apple
Juice 2: banana, strawberry, apple, 2 tangerines, grapefruit, pear, carrot
Juice 3: banana, apple, grapes, raspberry, strawberry, lemon, orange, carrot
Juice 4: strawberry, mango, banana, orange, clementine, pineapple
